The Lebanese powerhouse pulled out a 77-74 win over Strong Group Athletics early Monday (PHL), winning the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
In a wild finish, Ismail Abdelmoneim drilled the game-winning triple at the buzzer, sealing Strong Group’s fate.
Earlier, Wael Arakji put Al Riyadi up 74-71, before Jordan Heading tied things up with a booming three of his own with a minute to go.
Gabriel Harries led the way with 23 points, as Al Riyadi won the tournament on an 8-0 sweep. Arakji added 16 for Al Riyadi, and Abdelmoneim finished with 10.
Andre Robeson powered Strong Group with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Dwight Howard went for 18 points and 12 boards. Heading was the only local in double figures with 17.
Strong Group trailed by as many as 19, but mounted a comeback starting late in the third.
