Intense volleyball action is coming our way.
Philippine Volleyball, welcome to 2024.
The Cignal HD Spikers, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, Petro Gazz Angels, and the Philippine Army lead the lineup for the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League's women's tournament, which kicks off on February 4, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
The women's competition will also feature the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers, who are set to defend the title they secured last November when the annual tournament was temporarily named the Challenge Cup.
PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara also announced that the men's tournament will commence on February 11 at the same venue.
“The PNVF is starting 2024 in earnest with the Champions League as we kick off another busy volleyball schedule,” said Suzara.
In the men’s tournament, the HD Spikers look to reclaim the title they lost to the UST Golden Spikers in the Challenge Cup last November.
Cignal is placed in Pool A alongside top men's club teams PGJC Philippine Navy, Savouge Spin Doctors, and College of Saint Benilde.
Pool B consists of VNS Asereht Griffins, Iloilo D’Navigators, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Army.
The upcoming Champions League represents the third edition of the competition, with Team Dasma Monarchs winning the inaugural event in 2021 then Cignal emerging victorious in 2022.
F2 Logistics and California Precision Sports-Antipolo City, meanwhile, dominated the first two women's tournaments.
