There is no doubt in everyone’s minds that Andy Gemao’s athleticism is off the charts.

The former Letran Squire's display in the 2024 Smart-NBTC National Finals served as a reminder of that.

With still 8:16 remaining in Fil-Am Nation Select's lopsided 95-63 win over One Media TV48-Naga, Gemao soared for a two-handed flush in transition to the delight of the crowd at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

“Masaya akong makalaro ulit dito sa MOA Arena,” said Gemao, who also saw action in NBTC’s All-Star game last year.

The same athleticism became his ticket to the US.

Six months ago, the 6-foot-2 cager flew to California in the hopes of making the Veritas Academy National Prep.

In February, he also joined the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders camp as part of the All-Star festivities in Indianapolis.

Gemao said that he is currently playing for a club team in the US.

Right now, though, the former NCAA Season 98 juniors Finals MVP is focused on leading Fil-Am Nation to the U-19 national title, a fitting would-be achievement for his quick Manila pit stop.

“Babalik akong US after ng mga games ko dito,” he said.

Fil-Am Nation Select tackles Batang Tiaong in the semifinals on Friday, March 22. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
