At 39-10, Thirdy Ravena and the San-en NeoPhoenix are the second team to officially clinch their spot in the 2024 B.League playoffs.
For the first time in his professional career, Thirdy Ravena will play some playoff basketball in Japan.
This after the San-en NeoPhoenix officially clinched their spot in the 2024 B.League playoffs following a 96-79 home win over the Osaka Evessa Saturday.
The victory put the NeoPhoenix at 39-10, no. 1 in the Central District and good for top-3 in all of the B1.
Thirdy contributed only six points in the win over Osaka, but his overall body of work this season has been his strongest since coming over to Japan for the 2020-21 season.
Entering Saturday’s game, Ravena is averaging a career-high 13.1 points, which is third on the team behind world imports Coty Clark and Yante Maten.
Thirdy is also shooting a career-high 50.9 percent from the field, as well as grabbing a career-high 5.0 rebounds per game. For good measure, he’s also dishing out 3.0 assists per outing.
Since the B.League played its first official season in 2016-17, this will be the second time the NeoPhoenix make the playoffs.
The team’s current run was powered by a franchise-record 16-straight wins, allowing them to momentarily take over solo first in the standings.
