Jia De Guzman joins the Filipino International Champions Club as the Denso Airybees win Japan's V Cup.
Make it four Filipino international volleyball champions in 2024.
The Denso Airybees capped a strong V Cup run with a win over Hitachi Rivale Sunday, taking the 25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12 decision.
The victory makes Jia De Guzman the second Filipino to win a gold medal in Japan.
The former Creamline star joins Jaja Santiago for the honor, who also won the V Cup with the Saitama Ageo Medics in 2021.
De Guzman likewise joins Ced Domingo, Bryan Bagunas, and Marck Espejo to win championships for international club teams in 2024.
Jia appeared in five of six V Cup games for the Airybees, recording two points. In the five-set final against Hitachi, De Guzman subbed into three sets, seeing action in sets 2, 3, and 5.

Before this V Cup title run, Denso finished fifth in the 2023-24 V1 season.
