Vanie Gandler's debut with Alas Pilipinas at the upcoming AVC Challenge Cup is a dream realized, marking a milestone she cherishes with deep pride and excitement.
In the quiet corner of Vanie Gandler’s bedroom, there exists a testament to the power of manifestation.
Four years ago, in a moment of quiet resolve, Gandler took a pen and inscribed two words on a post-it note – "national team."
Little did she know then, that humble scrap of paper she stuck to her wall would one day herald her ascent to the pinnacle of Philippine volleyball.
Fast forward to the present, and the rising star of the Cignal HD Spikers stands tall as a proud member of Alas Pilipinas.

“It’s everyone’s dream to play for the national team because it’s the highest level of competition in the Philippines,” Gandler shared to One Sports.
“Actually, four years ago I stuck a post-it on my wall, it said national team. Four years later, here we are,” she then recounted with a smile while brandishing her shirt emblazoned with the words "Philippine Volleyball."
Gandler’s rise to the national team was not just a stroke of luck. It was the culmination of years spent honing her skills, overcoming setbacks, and maintaining an unwavering belief in her own potential.
For the 23-year-old hotshot, each practice session, every game played, and all the sacrifices made along the way have woven together to manifest her once-distant dream into a vibrant reality.
Gandler also understands the significance of her national team call-up extends beyond personal achievement, as it serves as a pivotal moment in her promising career with Cignal in the PVL.
“Hopefully this is a big stepping stone for my career, and I know it is. Getting this exposure with such great players, the competitiveness in practices, it’s really fun, it’s really competitive,” she said.
“Yeah, hopefully I can bring this along with me with Cignal.”

Above all, Gandler feels deeply honored to represent her country for the first time.
She is also thrilled to join forces with some of the most talented stars in the local volleyball scene, including several she has long admired.
“Of course, I’m very blessed and grateful to be given this opportunity. Aside from representing the country, I’m really excited to learn from my teammates, my ates, and my idols growing up,” Gandler said.
“So, yeah, it’s a really good experience for me.”
