Ray Parks Jr. is the latest Filipino Asian import to find a new home in the Japan B.League, signing with Osaka Evessa.
A new chapter awaits Ray Parks Jr. in Osaka.
Parks Jr. is joining the Osaka Evessa for the upcoming 2024-25 Japan B. League season, the team announced Wednesday, June 26.
Osaka becomes Ray's second team in Japan after spending his first three B1 seasons with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins.
Osaka finished last season with a 25-35 record — good for 18th place in the 24-team league in Japan’s top flight division.
The 31-year-old fan favorite averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists last season for the Diamond Dolphins, helping the team to make the playoffs for a third straight season.
In a farewell post, Parks bid farewell to his former Nagoya squad, thanking his teammates, coaches and the whole organization “for making me a better basketball player, and most importantly, a better man.”
“We have been through a lot of ups and downs, but we made history. Y’all gave me a breath of fresh life on and off the court when I was at my lowest. I'm forever grateful. Thank you for the unconditional love,” he added.
