Scottish pool superstar Jayson Shaw fired past Carlo Biado to keep Team Europe's 2024 Reyes Cup campaign alive.
Team Europe is still alive in the 2024 Reyes Cup after a spirited performance by Jayson Shaw to defeat Pinoy bet Carlo Biado, 5-3, in their singles bout at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila on Friday, October 18.
Shaw came out of the gates firing, capitalizing on Biado’s early errors to secure four straight frames.
What looked like a clean sweep turned into a rather thrilling match as the reigning World 10-Ball champion secured the fifth frame after a rather surprising error by the Scottish pool player in the 7th rack.
With some momentum on his side, Biado secured back-to-back frames to ignite the crowd and move closer to pulling off the reverse sweep.
However, in the eighth rack, Biado powered his shot on the second ball just a bit too strong which Shaw pounced on to secure the victory and Team Europe’s fifth point.
Shaw will play once more as he goes up against Vietnamese star Duong Quoc Hoang next.
