Strong Group is gearing up for the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship with a formidable lineup that includes two returning big men: Ange Kouame and Andray Blatche.

The team recently announced the return of Kouame and Blatche, alongside Dave Ildefonso and Rhenz Abando for the upcoming Dubai tilt.

As SGA aims to reclaim the title, the presence of both Kouame and Blatche is expected to play a crucial role in both anchoring the paint and providing veteran leadership.

Kouame, the 6'10" naturalized Filipino and a reliable two-way player, brings his signature defensive prowess and rebounding skills back to Strong Group.

Known for his ability to control the tempo on both ends of the floor, the former Ateneo standout and current Meralco Bolts import in the East Asia Super League is a consistent force in international competitions.

His return strengthens Strong Group's frontcourt, alongside former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins, as they prepare for a tough regional tournament.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Blatche is looking to redeem himself after an injury cut short campaign short in last year’s Finals against Al-Riyadi.

Blatche’s experience and offensive versatility remain invaluable to the team, particularly in high-pressure situations. His ability to stretch the floor and create mismatches will complement Kouame's interior dominance, making them a dynamic duo in the frontcourt.

With Kouame, Blatche, and Cousins anchoring the paint, Strong Group is optimistic about improving on their runner-up finish last year.

Their return, coupled with other key additions, positions the team as a strong contender once more to reclaim the prestigious Dubai title.
