From playing in the NBA to suiting up for Gilas Pilipinas and Strong Group Athletics, Andray Blatche has had an illustrious basketball career.
Andray Blatche bared his playing days are almost over.
Blatche had this to say when he faced reporters during the Converge-TNT game in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate on Saturday, Jan. 11.
“I mean, I'm getting to the age where it's almost over at this point. This might be my last show this year, actually,” said Blatche.
The 38-year-old was referring to his stint with Strong Group Athletics in the Dubai International Championship, where he will team up with Demarcus Cousins as well as local stars like Rhenz Abando.
After a bridesmaid finish in the said tournament last year, the former Gilas naturalized player said he wants to end it with fireworks.
“I think this tournament might be my last tournament. So, of course, I want to go out with a bang and go out there and win a championship,” said Blatche.

So, what’s next for Blatche?
The 6-foot-11 hinted at coaching after wrapping up his illustrious career that also saw him strut his stuff with Gilas Pilipinas in the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.
“If anything, next, it will be a little bit of coaching or something in that area,” he said.

If given an offer to be part of the national team’s coaching staff, he would not hesitate to accept it.
“Oh, I would love to! I would love to. I could be their big man coach for the big guys,” Blatche said.
