The tournament, set to run from January 24 to February 2, 2025, promises to be a major test for Strong Group's revamped squad.
Richardson, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, was the 22nd overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and has NBA experience with the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors.
After his NBA stint, he built a solid international career, playing in leagues across Israel, Italy, Poland, Indonesia, and Mexico.
“Malachi is a great shooter, a true professional, and has shown a great attitude so far,” said head coach Charles Tiu. “We believe he’ll be a vital part of our success in Dubai.”
Meanwhile, Larrier, a 6-foot-7 forward from New York, adds versatility and international experience, having played in the G-League and for teams in Sweden, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Romania, Venezuela, South Africa, and Qatar.
“We want guys who can help spread the floor for DeMarcus,” Tiu explained, emphasizing Larrier's fit alongside the team's other weapons.
Complementing the import duo are standout Filipino players Rhenz Abando, Dave Ildefonso, Jason Brickman, Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot, and Justine Sanchez, giving Strong Group a mix of firepower and depth heading into the prestigious tournament.
