Multiple reports indicate that Bianca Bustamante is no longer part of the McLaren Driver Development Programme after one year of representing the Woking-based team in the F1 Academy.
Filipina racer Bianca Bustamante has reportedly left McLaren ahead of her debut in the GB3 Championship, which begins in April.
After exhausting her two years with feeder series F1 Academy, Bustamante parted ways with the McLaren, as Planet F1 reports. Bianca represented the McLaren team for one year in F1 Academy, which was highlighted by one podium finish in an up-and-down season in 2024.
Bustamante has not formally confirmed her departure but no longer has McLaren in her social media bio.
As she moved up to the GB3, she will be affiliated with Elite Motorsport, where she is joined by William Macintyre.
She joins 2024 F1 Acadmey champion Abbi Pulling, who got a fully-funded drive with Rodin Motorsport for 2025.
The GB3 2025 season will be run over eight rounds with triple-header races beginning in April and ending in October.
Bustamante’s latest feeder series also races in a number of F1 venues including Zandvoort, Spa, the Hungaroring, and Monza.
Despite her exit from McLaren, Bustamante will still be seen donning the Papaya colors on Netflix.
Bustamante and the rest of the F1 Academy drivers will be the subject of a Netflix documentary on the all-female series which is expected to be available to stream some time this year.
