Earlier this week, Tokyo 2020 silver medalists Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam were tapped as the official flag bearers of the Philippines in the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
As they take center stage, they will rock the Olympics in a custom-made timeless barong designed by renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran.
Crafted from piña-jusi cloth, the barong features a removable silk organdy sling embroidered with warrior designs inspired by Pintados and sun rays, signifying valor and patriotism.
Every intricate component of the design highlights the rich cultural legacy of the Philippines.
The Philippine Olympic Committee confirmed it on its official Facebook page.
