Bruno Caboclo was unstoppable for Brazil in its duel versus Japan in Paris 2024 men's basketball on Friday, Aug. 2.
Bruno Caboclo dropped 33 points and collared 17 boards to power Brazil past Japan, 102-84, and later clinch a quarterfinal berth in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on Friday, Aug. 2.
Caboclo became the first player to produce 30-plus markers and 15-plus boards in a single Olympic game since Clifford Luyk of Spain tallied 31 points and 17 rebounds in Munich in 1972, according to FIBA.
His total number of boards against Japan also landed at seventh in the all-time list for a single game at the quadrennial meet.
His stellar feat thus helped his country advance to the Last Eight as, though Brazil trailed outright qualifiers Germany and France (both 2-0) in Group B with its 1-2 record, it is still one of the two best third-placed teams in each bunch.
