And it is serious as expected.
Terrafirma Dyip winger Kevin Ferrer suffered an Achilles injury in their 104-92 win over TNT Tropang Giga in the PBA on Tour on Thursday.
Coach Johnedel Cardel confirmed this to One Sports via text message on Thursday.
There’s no timetable yet for his return. But Cardel said the Dyip forward will undergo surgery on his Achilles on Friday at the UST Hospital.
“Naputol ‘yung Achilles. Operation tomorrow sa UST Hospital,” Cardel said.
The disaster happened with 14.4 ticks remaining in the second quarter and TNT leading 42-35. Ferrer was going for a rebound by his lonesome when something snapped in his left leg.
He went down, grimacing in pain, before being wheeled out of Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Before sustaining the injury, he had 7 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist.
