It’s official.

The Bay Area Dragons will be back for the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup in October.

The Dragons made the announcement through their social media page as they shared the team’s new logo and plans in the upcoming months.

“The Dragons will be back in the PBA for the Commissioner’s Cup,” the caption of the post wrote.

In the 2022-2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Bay Area finished with a 10-2 record, practically dominating every PBA team they faced.

The Dragons, however, met their match when they faced the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in a finals matchup for the ages. The foreign team lost in seven games.

PBA fans have displayed appreciation to Bay Area being in the PBA, pointing to how the guest squad helps elevates the level of play in Asia's first play-for-pay league.

Even the players have grown a liking for the country, case in point, forward Zhu Songwei chose to stay in the country for some rest and relaxation after the conference.

All eyes will be on the Dragons in the upcoming PBA season as they look to grab the Commissioner’s Cup crown this time around.

The PBA brass, meanwhile, has yet to make an official announcement on the return of the Hong Kong-based team to the league.
