Bay Area suddenly disbands ahead of PBA comeback, says report

In a stunning development, the Bay Area Dragons were suddenly disbanded ahead of their return to the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

All staff and members of the team were reportedly let go in an online meeting, accordingto to a report by the South China Morning Post. The Dragons and the East Asia Super League has yet to release an official announcement as to the reason for the disbandment.

Last July, the Dragons announced that they would return to the PBA this coming October for the Commissioner's Cup. The visiting squad was set to avenge their runner-up finish from the previous iteration of the conference.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial even announced that several games will be played in Hong Kong, in the home court of the Bay Area. The league has yet to issue a statement regarding the latest news.
