PBA fans are excitedly waiting for LA Tenorio’s return on the hardcourt.

After hearing the good news that he beat his seven-month battle with colon cancer, Tenorio has been slowly but surely making progress in his on-court return with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Over the past month, Tenorio has been helping out with Gilas Pilipinas as an assistant coach during their historic Asian Games gold medal run in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

During that span, Tenorio wasn’t only helping out in coaching the team, but he was also joining the drills to further improve his fitness.

But based on the stories of Gilas Pilipinas and Barangay Ginebra assistant coach Richard Del Rosario, it seems like Tinyente would rather be playing on the court than being on the sidelines.

“Si LA, talagang during that stint in the Asian Games as an assistant coach, medyo nanibago talaga siya. He said parang ang hirap-hirap pala maging coach,” del Rosario said in an interview on One Sports’ The Game.

“But he was really valuable for us because he gave us a player's perspective,” he added.

Del Rosaro likewise expressed his excitement to see the 39-year-old floor general back with Team NSD soon.

“He started practicing already, not full practices yet, but we're looking forward to that day,” said del Rosario. “We already know he beat cancer. It's going to be a great story for him once he sets foot back on the basketball court.”

Indeed, it will be a great day for the PBA once Tenorio is back on the court.

After all, they are set to defend their PBA Commissioner’s Cup crown with Justin Brownlee, who is facing some controversy as of late. But once that is cleared, he could sure use the veteran skills of Tenorio to bring home another title.
