Blackwater acquired another marquee name in Rey Nambatac from Rain or Shine in exchange for a first-round pick in the next rookie draft.

The PBA on Wednesday approved the deal, which also awarded the Elasto Painters a second-round pick in the 50th season.

This development came nearly a week after the Bossing signed two-time MVP James Yap for a one-year contract. Yap donned the Rain or Shine jersey for seven years before asking for a release and joining the Jeff Cariaso-led squad.

Nambatac, who averaged over nine points for Rain or Shine in the ongoing PBA Commissioner's Cup, could just be what the doctor ordered for beleaguered Blackwater which lost the services of Baser Amer.

Amer, who did not sign an extension with the Bossing, opted to ink a deal with NLEX and reunite with former San Beda coach Frankie Lim.

Nambatac's addition, if Blackwater is indeed his final destination, would be a big boost for the team which only managed to chalk up a solitary win this conference.
