The decision came just weeks after promoting Jong Uichico to the head coaching position.
NLEX is bringing in another seasoned executive to its front office in time for the PBA’s 49th season.
The Road Warriors on Saturday, June 22, announced that they tapped Virgil Villavicencio to be their new team manager.
Villavicencio will replace Gilas legend and former Road Warrior Larry Fonacier.
“He will be our new Team Manager and will be tasked with the day-to-day operations of the team,” the team said in the official release.
The decision came just two weeks after NLEX named multi-titled mentor Jong Uichico as head coach.
Winner of nine PBA titles with three different teams, Uichico took the reins from Frankie Lim, who led NLEX to two playoff appearances in two years at the helm.

Like Uichico, Villavicencio is also not lacking in experience.
Villavicencio spent the better part of the past two decades as team manager of TNT.
The former tactician held the same position when Uichico steered the TNT to the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, which happened to be the latter’s last in the league.
