As if the Ginebra-Terrafirma trade was not explosive enough, Magnolia has entered the fray as SMC teams continue to retool ahead of PBA Season 49.

In a trade approved by the PBA on Monday, July 15, Zavier Lucero is headed to the Hotshots from NorthPort for Jio Jalalon and Abu Tratter.

Lucero, the no. 5 pick from last year's Draft, could be just what the doctor ordered to rejuvenate the Hotshots, who also tabbed former Adamson star Jerom Lastimosa in the first round of the PBA Season 49 Rookie Draft on Sunday, July 14.

For Lucero, the Batang Pier then received the rights to Jalalon and Tratter from Magnolia. In a separate deal with Ginebra, NorthPort also received Sidney Onwubere for Ben Adamos.

This latest deal comes just a day after the Draft, where Justine Baltazar emerged as the top overall pick for Converge.
