San Miguel is currently 0-5 in a playoff series against a Ginebra side featuring Justin Brownlee.
Marcio Lassiter knew the odds of San Miguel beating Justin Brownlee and Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup semifinals isn’t in the Beermen’s favor.
That was even validated when he learned the Beermen have yet to win against a Ginebra team featuring Brownlee in a playoff pairing.
San Miguel is currently 0-5 against Brownlee.
“I’m clearly aware of that (stat). I’m definitely aware of it,” Lassiter told One Sports after San Miguel tied the series at 2-2 on Wednesday, October 16.
“The only reason why I’m aware of it was, when I was watching Game 2, they showed that stat on the big screen.”

It was an added motivation for Lassiter, who finished with 15 points, including a four-pointer, in the 131-121 Game 4 win.
“I mean yes (extra motivation). When you play against Justin, he’s like one of the best. We know what he does for his team,” he said of Brownlee, who finished with 49 points in a losing cause.
“Obviously tonight he did a great output, seemed like he couldnt miss. But at the end of the day we’re able to edge out and get a win.”
While Brownlee clearly has San Miguel’s number, Lassiter is confident the June Mar Fajardo-led Beermen can finally score one against the beloved naturalized Filipino.
“Hoping to just come out with the same intensity coming to Game 5 cause this could be a very pivotal Game 5 for both teams,” said the player who holds the most number of three-point field goals all-time.

Game 5 is set on Friday, October 18 at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
