MJ Phillips flew to Korea to start her V-League career but it seems like the Petro Gazz Angels will be okay.

Despite racking up 30 errors and nearly ceding an extended Set 2 to the Farm Fresh Foxies, the Angels managed to get their second win in the PVL Invitational Conference in straight sets, 25-21, 31-29, 25-17.

Grethcel Soltones, who scored 16 points off 15 attacks and a block, along with 9 excellent digs, was all praises for teammate KC Galdones.

The Petro Gazz recruit made 6 points, two of them coming from blocks. Des Clemente also pitched in 5 points, one from a block.

"Deserve! Lalong lalo si Des, hard work siya every training," Soltones said in the post-match interview.

"Si KC may Starbucks siya sa'kin. Sabi ko 'pag maayos 'yung game niya, bibigyan ko siya ng reward."

Soltones though admitted that they did struggle in the first two sets. It was the first game of PVL's first quadruple-header of the conferencewhich started at 9:30 in the morning. Plus, it was coming off a long break due to the Volleyball Nations League.

The Foxies nearly managed to snatch their first-ever set win.

"I guess 'yung eagerness, willingness to make a point right away. Nagiging hasty kami," coach Oliver Almadro admitted to reporters.

"Masyado kaming out of timing because we really want to make a point. We want to win right away. I tell them it's patience and composure which will bring us the win."

The Angels will need that patience and composure on Thursday as they take on the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers at 12:00 p.m. for a top two spot in Pool B.
