Jaja Santiago is a Filipino volleyball icon who now plays professionally for the team JT Marvelous in the Japan V.League.

Jaja’s husband, Takayuki Minowa, is a volleyball tactician who’ll be coaching in the Philippines, particularly, he will be the headmaster for PVL’s newest team, the Nxled Chameleons.

Pretty ironic, isn’t it? Somewhere in there, the old pop song Love Moves in Mysterious Ways rings true.

Speaking of love, the 27-year-old middle blocker penned a loving message for her hubby in light of the latter’s impending tour of duty in Manila.

“Congratulations, daddy! Good luck on your new adventure in your second home country,” Santiago posted over a photo of Coach Taka enjoying a cup of coffee.

Long-distance relationships have its challenges. Of course, Jaja and Taka will have to deal with those as well. Thankfully, Mrs. Minowa seems to be handling the situation pretty well. And she doesn’t seem to mind going back home to see her family and her man as well.

“Me and my family will support you, wherever you are. I’m so proud of you. See you there in the Philippines,” Santiago added.

Some fans can't also help but think this could provide an opening for Jaja to return to the PVL, but as it stands, it seems like Coach Taka will indeed face the challenges of being in a long-distance relationship.

He will also have a few hurdles to overcome when he guides the debuting Chameleons. The Akari Chargers’ sister team has filled its roster with players on the comeback trail and promising young guns. The Japanese mentor will have to manage these personalities and have them think and move as a unit.

It seems like a tall task but given his experience, Minowa might just be able to pull it off.
