'Confidence within': Aby Maraño stays unfazed in blockbuster showdown against undefeated Creamline

PVL

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers moved up to 4-2 on Thursday after sweeping the Gerflor Defenders in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference. It was smooth sailing for the Cargo Movers, but captain Aby Maraño considers the match vital as they go up against defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers next Tuesday.

"Malaking bagay para ma-boost yung confidence ng team namin," she told reporters after the match. "Kasi may mga games kami na downer talaga, nate-test 'yung character ng players, 'yung mental state of mind."

She had ten points coming off six attacks, two blocks, and two aces.

It was an improved performance for F2 Logistics after outlasting the feisty Farm Fresh Foxies in a five-setter and after losing to the Petro Gazz Angels via sweep.

"We're the ones who are performing inside. Kami ang in control. Every time na 'di masa-satisfy 'yung coaches sa performance namin, even us nashe-shake 'yung confidence. So pakahirap 'yung paano ka babangon," she shared.

Now that they have two straight wins, it's a boost against the undefeated Creamline, which just took down Petro Gazz in five difficult sets.

"Confidence starts within," Maraño said. "If you have the confidence na 'di ka magpapatalo, it will be infectious sa kasama mo."

"'Pag successful kami sa part na 'yun, I think yung collective skill that we have will be a huge factor to get that game against Creamline."

The matches between F2 Logistics and Creamline have always been tightly contested. Their three clashes since the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference have gone all the way to five sets. It was only in the previous Invitational Conference that Creamline got the upper hand.

But the dynamics will be a bit different now, with Creamline missing the services of main setter Jia de Guzman and middle blocker Ced Domingo.

On the other hand, F2 Logistics will not have star spiker Kim Kianna Dy. It's also up in the air whether Myla Pablo, a key figure in the Cargo Movers' victories against the Cool Smashers, will be able to play.

The match will take place on November 14, 6 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. It will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
