Ranya Musa has been a big revelation for the Petro Gazz Angels in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference. It has been a breakout campaign, to say the least, for the middle blocker.

Unfortunately, she will have to sit out the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in her right knee. She sustained it in the Angels' game against the Cignal HD Spikers on November 11. Musa sat out their match versus the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Thursday.

"The team and the management will give our full support as she prepares for the season-ending procedure and ensure that she will receive the utmost medical attention she needs in order to fully recover from this setback," said Petro Gazz in a statement on Instagram.

The 26-year-old Musa also got an outpouring of support from fans, leaving comments on the post to wish for her quick recovery.

Musa's setback comes at a crucial stretch for the Angels, who are currently 4-4 and are on the outside looking in for the semifinals.

The former College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers standout was having one heck of a return for Petro Gazz after suiting up for the Gerflor Defenders in the PVL Invitational Conference. She had teamed up with Grethcel Soltones, Remy Palma, and Djanel Cheng to help the Angels keep in step with other squads.

An ACL injury is always a tough one, and Musa will have to be mentally ready throughout her recovery process. It will be long and strenuous. But with her cheery attitude and the support of fans, it won't be long until she's back on the court, possibly as an even bigger revelation for Petro Gazz.
