Choco Mucho wasted no time returning to the win column after dispatching Akari Saturday night.

The Flying Titans laid their stinging loss to PLDT to rest, venting their ire on the Chargers 25-17, 25-22, 25-21, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Choco Mucho needed to overcome a tough challenge in the last two sets to complete the sweep for an improved 5-1 record, forging a three-way logjam atop the standings with Creamline and PLDT.

The Flying Titans got off to a strong start but saw their offense go adrift in the second frame, where the Chargers seized control and held the lead.

However, errors spelled disaster for Akari, leaving the door open for Choco Mucho to snatch a two-set buffer.

Come the decisive third, the troika of Madayag, Royse Tubino and Sisi Rondina propelled the Flying Titans to an 18-11 separation. Faith Nisperos gave Akari one last hurrah to whittle the deficit down to 20-23, but Tubino delivered the crucial blows to ice the game for good.

Rondina made her all-around presence felt with 13 points, 17 digs and eight receptions.

Madayag and Tubino anchored above the net, collecting three and two blocks for 11 points apiece.

Isa Molde contributed seven markers for Choco Mucho, which also drew 14 excellent sets from Mars Alba.

Meanwhile, Akari dropped to 2-4, sporting identical records with Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower.

Nisperos was the lone double-digit scorer for the Chargers with 12 points. She also tallied 12 receptions and 10 digs in an all-around effort that went for naught.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat managed nine markers, while Grethcel Soltones had seven points in the losing cause.

Choco Mucho seeks to carry over momentum when it faces Galeries Tower, while Akari aims to get back on winning track when it takes on PLDT on April 2, Tuesday.

Both matches will be held at the PhilSports Arena.
