Maddie Madayag is taking her talents to Japan.

Confirmed by both the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and the Kurobe Aqua Fairies, Madayag is set to transfer to the SV.League for the 2024-25 season.

Madayag will be one of three foreign players in the Kurobe lineup, joining Iris Scholten and Lena Stigrot.

Maddie will also be the third homegrown Filipina in the SV.League next season, with Jia De Guzman seeing action for the Denso Airybees and Sachi Minowa for the Osaka Marvelous.

Madayag has been a Flying Titan since 2019 and was recently named as Best Middle Blocker in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

While the PVL title eluded Maddie, she was a two-time UAAP champion with Ateneo.

Madayag joins Kurobe, who previously had Dindin Santiago-Manabat as a player.

The Aqua Fairies struggled in last year’s V1 season, finishing 11th in a 12-team field with a 4-18 record.
