Veteran spiker EJ Laure bid farewell to the Chery Tiggo Crossovers and Foton Tornadoes after a remarkable nine-year stint.
Veteran volleyball star EJ Laure expressed her heartfelt gratitude and bid farewell to the Chery Tiggo Crossovers and Foton Tornadoes after spending nine years with the franchise.
In an Instagram post, Laure shared recent and throwback photos from her time with the team. Her caption read: "Forever grateful for the 9 years, Foton/Chery."
Laure's tenure with both Chery Tiggo and Foton was marked by numerous achievements, including a title with the Tornadoes during the 2016 Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix Conference.
She also won 1st Best Open Hitter in the 2017 PSL All-Filipino Conference, before bagging the bronze medal for Chery Tiggo during the 2024 PNVF Champions League.
It has been rumored lately that Laure, her younger sister Eya, and teammate Buding Duremdes are set to leave the Crossovers. With Laure’s latest post, those rumors look more and more likely.
It’s still unclear where the 27-year-old outside hitter will play next, but PVL teams will definitely be lining up to snap up her services.
For now, fans will eagerly await confirmation on where EJ will play next, especially with the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference set to begin in the coming weeks.
