After missing out in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, Savi Davison is back to her fiery scoring ways to lead PLDT past Nxled in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Savi Davison re-introduced herself for PLDT in their opening-game victory Tuesday in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference against Nxled, 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22.
Davison, who missed the 2024 Reinforced Conference due to knee surgery, was back swinging as she finished with a team-high 19 points, along with nine excellent receptions.
Despite the strong numbers, the 25-year-old Fil-Canadian spiker is simply glad to be back playing with the High Speed Hitters.
“I'm just excited to contribute the way I'm used to. I'm super grateful with how this whole process turned out with me being able to play so early,” Davison said during the post-game press conference.
“Seeing everything from the outside perspective, I think that was the hardest part, but you know, it makes you think about all the things you should be grateful for once you get back, and just being to move again, I guess,” she added.
The High Speed Hitters experienced plenty of highs and lows in the time Savi was out during the Reinforced Conference, most notably being just a point away from making their first-ever Finals.
Now back with the team, Davison’s goal remains the same for PLDT.
“We all kind of have a chip on our shoulder to come back, but regardless of what happened last conference, I think we're just working hard to enter that podium spot, and that's our main goal moving forward,” said Davison.

When asked about a specific team she wants to face this conference, Davison said she’s just excited to face all the teams once more amid the several changes during the offseason.
“I'm actually excited to face all of them. There's been a lot of changes in the PVL and I'm excited to see kinda how things turn out with coaches, new players, etc. I can't really say that there's one kind of team to look forward to,” said Davison.
“Obviously the top teams, Choco and Creamline are always a good fight, but regardless, every team's gonna come with everything that they have, so everything's gonna be competitive,” she added.
Four other High Speed Hitters finished in double-digit scoring in the four-set win over the Chameleons, including Erika Santos with 15 points. Majoy Baron and Fiola Ceballos finished with 14 and 13 markers, respectively, while Dell Palomata added 10 in the victory.
Nxled’s Chiara Permentilla had a game-high 21 points, to go along with 10 excellent digs and 15 excellent sets. Lycha Ebon contributed 15 markers.
PLDT will look to go 2-0 against Galeries Tower next Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Ynares Center Antipolo, while Nxled aims to bounce back against ZUS Coffee also on the same day.
