Cess Robles is embracing her bigger role for Chery Tiggo.

With the departure of sisters EJ and Eya Laure, Robles knew that she needed to step up.

And that she did as she fired 15 points built on 14 attacks and one block to help the Crossovers come out victorious quickly, 26-24, 25-15, 25-18, against Nxled in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

"Para sa akin, no pressure. Gawin ko lang kung ano 'yung tiwalang ibinibigay nila coach sa amin. Malaking bagay din 'yung nawala sa amin, so kailangan kong mag-step up," Robles said after Chery Tiggo hiked its record to to 2-1.

During the offseason, the 27-year-old spiker, along with Joyme Cagande and Jen Nierva, were reunited with chief tactician Norman Miguel.

Robles, Caganda and Nierva were handled by Miguel when they were still playing for National University in the UAAP.

"Siyempre, happy ako na si coach Norman 'yung coach ngayon," said Robles.

"Wala namang masyadong adjustment kasi kilala na kami ni coach Norman."

Aside from Robles, team captain Aby Maraño had a solid outing for the Crossovers with 11 points. Ara Galang and Mary Rhose Dapol added six and four markers, respectively.

Chery Tiggo guns for back-to-back wins next Tuesday, Dec. 3, against undefeated PLDT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Meanwhile, Nxled hopes to finally break through against fellow winless team, Capital1, on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Pasig Arena.

Chiara Permentilla led the Chameleons with 12 points she complemented with 10 digs and eight excellent receptions.

May Luna chipped in eight points, while Lycha Ebon and Jai Atienza both contributed seven points apiece.
