After three games into the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino, PLDT is sitting comfortably at the top of the standings with a 3-0 record.

A huge part of the High Speed Hitters’ success has been the return of Fil-Canadian spiker Savi Davison, who sat out the Reinforced Conference due to a knee injury.

Davison is currently second among the Best Scorers in the league with 60 points.

Her most recent performance came against Capital1, where the 25-year-old spiker finished with 17 markers in PLDT’s straight-sets victory.

Despite her strong start to the conference, Davison admitted that she is still working her way to her 100% form.

“This game I definitely had some areas I had to work on but it just shows me that obviously I’m not 100 [percent] yet, so it just keeps showing [me] lessons that I can improve on,” Davison said during the post-game press conference.

According to Davison, not much has changed in terms of preparation for the High Speed Hitters. Nonetheless, she is eager to see her squad find their form amid their hot start in the extended All-Filipino Conference.

“I don’t think there’s much change obviously we work hard, our preparation was really nice and we just know how to adjust to certain teams,” Davison explained.

“I think we just show up every day working harder than the last, so I think as a team we’re just growing in general as a group and it’s really fun to see how much we can do so I’m just excited to see — give us more time and we’ll see how it goes,” she added.

While individual awards could also be in the discussion for Davison following her return, she is more focused on helping the High Speed Hitters finally achieve their ultimate goal: a PVL title.

“Now that I’ve rehabbing stuff and I’m back kind of in the day-to-day with practice, it’s more just about becoming the player that they need me to be and less so much focus on myself. You know I’m just trying to fill any role that I can to contribute to this team so it’s on me,” said Davison.
