The Creamline Cool Smashers move atop the standings with a 6-0 start following their clean sweep of the Nxled Chameleons in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Creamline Cool Smashers moved to the top spot of the standings following their commanding sweep of the Nxled Chameleons, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The win marked the Cool Smashers’ 16th straight win dating back to the 2024 Reinforced Conference. Meanwhile, Nxled lost its 15 straight match, which also dates back to the Reinforced Conference.
After dominant first and second sets, Creamline found themselves on the back foot against Nxled, who maintained a three-point lead until the 18-15 mark.
From there, the grand slam champions went on a 7-0 run capped off by an emphatic down-the-line hit by Alyssa Valdez to send the game into match point.
Mae Luna-Lumahan ended the run but Tots Carlos came right back with another down-the-line hit to seal the win.
Kyle Negrito orchestrated the Cool Smashers’ victory with 15 excellent sets and three points.
Creamline will put their undefeated record on the line against the Cignal HD Spikers on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the PhilSports Arena.
