The Cignal HD Spikers were not to be denied their seventh win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference as they took down the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in four sets, 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-11.
Cignal scored back-to-back wins in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down ZUS Coffee in four sets, 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-11, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, February 13.
Despite faltering in the third set, the HD Spikers regained their composure to pull away from the Thunderbelles, leading by as many as 11 points at 20-9 after Jackie Acuña’s kill block on Chinnie Arroyo.
With all the momentum in the match, Cignal extended its margin after reaching match point, 24-11, as Ishie Lalongisip’s back-row attack ended the long rally.
Vanie Gandler would close the game out in the following play with a clean spike that ZUS Coffee failed to send over.
Ishie Lalongisip had another strong outing for the HD Spikers with a career-high 20 points on 18 attacks and two service aces.
The win improved Cignal’s record to 7-3 for third in the standings. Meanwhile, ZUS Coffee slid to 4-6, tied with sister team Farm Fresh.
