The Petro Gazz Angels racked up another win in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after sweeping the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-18, 25-18, 25-22.
The Petro Gazz Angels stormed to their eighth consecutive victory in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after dominating the Galeries Tower Highrisers in straight sets, 25-18, 25-18, 25-22, at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Saturday, February 15.
Dominant all game long, the Angels had to overcome the Highrisers’ last-ditch effort in the third set.
Tied at 15-all, Myla Pablo and Brooke Van Sickle pushed Petro Gazz ahead scoring three straight points.
Jho Maraguinot tried to mount a Highrisers comeback, even cutting the lead to just a single point at 22-23. But in the end, Pablo delivered the last two points for the Angels, both coming from cross-court kills.
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas was hailed the Player of the Game with 12 points, all of which came as attacks.
The win pushed Petro Gazz to a 9-1 record with just a game left before the qualification round. Meanwhile, Galeries Tower dropped to 1-9, still 10th in the standings.
The Angels will close out their preliminary round schedule against the Nxled Chameleons on Tuesday, February 20.
