Alyssa Solomon, Mars Alba, Maddie Madayag, and Majoy Baron have applied for the 2025 KOVO Asian Quota Draft, aiming for a stint in the Korean Volleyball League.
Several Filipina volleyball standouts are taking another shot at an international stint, declaring for the 2025 Korean Volleyball League (KOVO) Asia Quota Draft.
Alyssa Solomon, Mars Alba, Maddie Madayag, and Majoy Baron are among the players vying for a coveted spot in the prestigious Korean league, hoping to follow in the footsteps of their compatriots who have tested their mettle overseas.
Solomon, who is still with the NU Lady Bulldogs, looks to prove herself on a bigger stage; while Alba, a crafty setter for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, aims to showcase her playmaking abilities to KOVO teams.
Meanwhile, seasoned middle blockers Madayag and Baron bring defensive prowess and leadership, both having extensive experience in local and international competitions.
Madayag is currently abroad playing for the Kurobe AquaFairies in the Japan SV.League.
Their participation in the draft continues the growing presence of Filipina talents in international volleyball.
However, the journey won’t be easy, as seen in the 2024 KOVO Asian Quota Draft, where established PVL stars MJ Phillips, Tots Carlos, and Mylene Paat went undrafted despite their impressive resumes.
