Former NU Lady Bulldogs head coach Norman Miguel is back in Jhocson to once again lead the women’s volleyball team, the university announced on Monday.

This time, Miguel is also tasked to lead the junior side in ladies’ volleyball.

“National University is thrilled to have coach Norman Miguel back as the new head coach of the NU girls’ and women’s volleyball teams,” NU said in its official announcement.

Miguel, who’s concurrently an assistant with PVL team Akari Chargers, previously coached the Lady Bulldogs in UAAP Seasons 81 and 82.

The veteran mentor replaces Karl Dimaculangan in the women’s squad, and Vilet Ponce de Leon, who led the girls’ team to back-to-back titles in Seasons 84 and 85.

Volleyball stars like Akari’s Dindin Santiago-Manabat have expressed their well wishes for the tactician.

“Congrats, coach! Haba ng buhok mo d’yan, Coach!” Santiago-Manabat joked with Miguel, pertaining to the mentor's photo used in the NU release.

Creamline Cool Smasher Risa Sato, who played under Miguel’s leadership back in her days with NU, also sent her congratulations with a simple heart emoji.

The Lady Bulldogs, who made a runner-up finish this year after winning it all in Season 84, will look to get back to the top once more with Miguel as head coach.
