After falling short of their goals in UAAP Season 85, the De La Salle Green Archers are ready to prove that they are true contenders in the upcoming collegiate season.

Recently busy with various offseason tournaments, DLSU now got into training with PBA franchise Converge FiberXers, which includes scrimmages.

That means college boys going against the pros.

For Kevin Quiambao, one of the stars of La Salle, that sounds just as how you perceive it—boys going against men.

On Instagram, KQ lets his followers in on what it’s like to match up against PBA cagers, specifically his namesake, Converge forward Kevin Racal.

“Thank you sa libreng masahe kuya featuring black eye,” Quiambao wrote in jest on his IG story that featured a photo of him with Racal.

Racal is not one to have his name slandered as he also took to social media to air his side. And yes, he even used all caps.

“HAHAHA HOY. HINDI SA’KIN ‘YAN!” The FiberXer replied coupled with a laughing emoji.

We’re not sure if Quimbao’s words were uttered as a complete joke, although we do know that some jokes are half-meant. But if Quiambao soon declares for the PBA Draft, then he now has a better idea of how it is like to play in Asia's oldest professional hoops league.

Whatever it is, it's certain that the Green Archers are grinding hard, which should put the rest of the UAAP teams on notice.

Championship season incoming? Stay tuned for Season 86, which starts at the end of September.
