Adamson Falcons coach Nash Racela had nothing but praise for UE Red Warriors main man Rey Remogat.

This after Adamson survived Remogat’s explosion and came away with a 72-65 win over the Red Warriors in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball on Sunday.

“UE is gifted with a very special player in Remogat. Ibang klase ‘yung bata. He really knows how to play the game,” Racela said after the match at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Heading into halftime, the Falcons seized control with a 12-point lead. But just when the Falcons thought things will be a breeze, Remogat happened.

Thrust into the main role for the Red Warriors, Remogat unleashed 23 of his 27 points in the second half to turn a catch-up game into a back-and-forth contest.

In the end, though, the Falcons managed to tame the Red Warrior, who also had 11 rebounds, and to claim their third win in five games.

Racela couldn’t help but be proud of the Falcons, who are still playing without injured star point guard Jerom Lastimosa.

“I still commend our players. They did their part. At least they made it hard for him (Remogat) to have open looks,” he said.

Ced Manzano led Adamson with 13 points, five rebounds, two steals, and one block before sitting out the rest of the match with 7:24 remaining due to a cut in his eyebrow. Matthew Montebon, whose three-pointer with 38.4 ticks remaining proved to be the dagger, also scored 13 points.
