Sweet reward for 'bravest man': #KitNelle moment got fans kilig for Evan Nelle, Kitty Duterte

Sweet reward for
One Sports/UAAP Varsity Channel

This is the most important story from the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball championship. Fight us.

The De La Salle Green Archers securing their first men's basketball title since 2016? Sure. It's their 10th crown though, so that's nothing new.

Coach Topex Robinson FINALLY getting a title after several heartbreaking bridesmaid finishes? Okay, maybe.

Triple-double machine Kevin Quiambao making out like a bandit with the season MVP plum AND the Finals MVP award? Okay, fine, that's noteworthy.

But this! This is the biggest story to soothe all of the fans who got heartbroken by that earth-shattering news that ended November.

It's this emotional hug between now-UAAP champion Evan Nelle and former President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter Kitty during the celebrations.

Manhid ka 'pag 'di ka kinilig!

It was a sweet, quiet hug between the two, with Nelle burying his face in Duterte's hair before giving her a peck on the head. Some fans couldn't sleep over the kilig.

Kitty was a pro at delivering a quote on how proud she was of Nelle, who fans have jokingly dubbed "Bravest Man in the World."

"Seeing all his hard work and dedication, I'm really proud. 'Yun lang," she told One Sports.

Nelle, who had 12 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in Game 3, was definitely more expressive in showing his affection.

"Thanks for holding me down. You know everything I have to say. I just wanna say thank you to her. She was there for me," he told One Sports.

Siguro naman aprub na sa tatay 'no?

And maybe we can finally lay these memes to rest.

OK, just to be clear, we're not belittling all of La Salle's achievements in the fantastic finals series against the UP Fighting Maroons. We're just having good fun and celebrating that the world's bravest man finally got his moment.
