The Lady Falcons are entering Season 86 with momentum on their side.
Despite going up against two formidable PVL teams, the Adamson Lady Falcons came out on top of the recently-concluded Akari Cup.
During their run, the Lady Falcons defeated both the Nxled Chameleons and the Akari Chargers en route to the championship.
Aside from the bragging rights, Adamson will be using their title run in the tournament to serve as extra motivation in the upcoming UAAP Season 86 which begins on Saturday, February 17.
“Super blessed kami na na-experience namin 'yung Akari Cup kasi nagkaroon kami ng opportunity maka-tune up 'yung mga pro-teams [na] puwedeng makadagdag ng knowledge namin this coming UAAP season,” libero Karen Verdeflor told One Sports during the UAAP Season 86 press conference on Monday.
“Great experience for us lalo na sa mga bata na mali-lineup this season,” she added.

The Lady Falcons, however, will be without one of their key players in Lorene Toring, who announced her season-ending ACL injury.
But while that may be the case, Verdeflor knows that their young players are more than ready to step up for the team.
“Super na-sad kami sa nangyari pero for us, madami naman na papalit na bago lalo 'yung mga bata na promising din na puwedeng mag-fit dun sa nawalang position,” said Verdeflor.
The talented libero though is not one to set expectations for the team as they will face the season one game at a time.
“Ang lagi lang sinasabi ng coaches namin is gawin lang namin best namin, gawin din 'yung every game na sinasabi na mag-tiwala sa sarili namin na kaya namin ilaban 'yung spot namin this coming UAAP,” said Verdeflor.
