The National University Bulldogs grabbed their second-straight win after powering past the Adamson Soaring Falcons in four sets, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 25-18, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, February 28.

After faltering in the second set, the Bulldogs regained their composure to overpower the Falcons in the next two frames to secure the victory.

John Gay and Marc Paulino, meanwhile, scored 13 and 12 points respectively for the the Falcons.

In the fourth set, NU started on a 5-0 run led by Almedras and Jan Abanilla which helped give the team enough cushion to overcome Adamson.

In the second game, the Ateneo Blue Eagles soared past University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in straight sets for their second win in the season, 25-19, 25-16, 25-23.

The Fighting Maroons tried to extend the match after going toe-to-toe with the Blue Eagles in the third set, tying the match at 21-all after an attack by Angelo Lagando.

But two consecutive attack points by Kennedy Batas and a game-winning spike by Cyrus De Guzman sealed the win for Ateneo.

Gian Salarzon led the way for the Blue Eagles with 18 points, while Emmanuel Okeke added 13 markers as Ateneo moved to 2-1 in standings, while UP remains winless in Season 86.
