The UST Growling Tigers continue to improve their roster for the upcoming UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament and beyond.
The University of Santo Tomas continues to load up on its guard lineup following the commitments of Andrei Honrada and Lorenzo Competente.
The 18-year-old Honrada currently competes for Homegrown Australia in the 2024 Smart-NBTC National Finals. In their recent match against UNBL-Don Bosco Dumaguete, Honrada contributed nine points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Standing at 5-foot-8, he is eligible to play in the upcoming UAAP Season 87.
Meanwhile, Competente transferred from Far Eastern University and previously represented Gilas Pilipinas Youth.
Despite playing sparingly in his rookie season with the Tamaraws, averaging 7.0 minutes, 1.5 points, and 1.0 rebounds, the 6-foot-2 guard is poised to join the Growling Tigers after serving a one-year residency for UAAP Season 88.
His reunion with former national youth teammate Zain Mahmood will add to the anticipation.

Coach Pido Jarencio expressed his excitement about the increased competition among his players as Honrada and Competente are expected to battle it out with his incoming guards led by Forthsky Padrigao and Kyle Paranada
“Ang maganda rito, tataas lalo yung competition ng mga bata. Talagang mula sa practice pa lang, kailangan na nilang magpakita,” said Jarencio.
