Ateneo de Manila University grabbed its third win in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament after a clean straight-set victory over the University of the Philippines, 25-14, 25-20, 25-15, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday, March 24.

Fresh from their commendable five-set loss against the University of Santo Tomas, the Blue Eagles made their presence felt from the get-go as they cruised to a dominant first set victory.

Ateneo continued to pounce on UP as Zel Tsunashima fired on all cylinders late in the second set, giving the Blue Eagles the 2-0 set advantage.

In the third set, the Blue Eagles distanced themselves early on from the Fighting Maroons, as substitute Anthea Selga later sealed the win with a service ace.

The win moves Ateneo to a 3-6 record, keeping its Final Four hopes alive while UP drops to a 1-8 record for eighth in the standings.

Tsunashima led the Blue Eagles with 16 points on 13 attacks and three blocks, while Sobe Buena added 10 markers and seven excellent digs.
