What a way to cap off a great year.
One of the cornerstones of men’s volleyball in the Philippines is officially off the market.
Bryan Bagunas, a veteran of the men’s national volleyball team, finally tied the knot with girlfriend Nicole Tracy Tan on Thursday, putting the stamp on years of love and togetherness in an intimate ceremony followed by a lavish reception.
Bagunas, a former UAAP men’s volleyball MVP, had previously begged off from national team duties for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia—a first in six years—to prepare for his and Tracy’s big day. The two got engaged in April last year and have been hands-on in the preparations.
The wedding caps off an eventful and highly successful year for the 6-foot-5 outside spiker, who is coming off an impressive stint in Taiwan’s Top Volleyball League as the import of the Win Streak volleyball club. Bagunas bagged league MVP honors playing for the Taiwanese squad, which he helped win a championship as well. He is set to return to Taiwan for another tour of duty—and likely an even bigger payday after proving to be an elite-level talent with championship pedigree.
Prior to taking his talents to Taiwan, Bagunas previously played three seasons for the Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler in the Japan V.League. He has also suited up for the national team twice, first in 2017 and then in 2019, when he helped the Philippines bag silver in local soil.
