It's an MVP-to-MVP celebration. ?

Sports patron and PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) awarded two million to ten million pesos worth of cash incentives to Paris 2024 medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas--matching the rewards they received in accordance with the law.

Yulo received P10 million pesos as a gold medalist, while Villegas and Petecio got two million pesos each as bronze medalists.

Caloy is the first double Olympic gold medalist for the Philippines, winning the floor exercise and vault finals. Villegas and Petecio reached the semifinals, assuring themselves of a medal.

Earlier this month, double gold medalist Yulo received P20 million from PAGCOR as mandated by Republic Act 10699. Petecio and Villegas got two million pesos each.

In 2019, both Carlos Yulo and Nesthy Petecio received a million each from MVP after claiming gold at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the World Women’s Amateur Boxing Championships, respectively. That same year, when MVP learned about Yulo's gymnastics background within his family, Pangilinan chose to extend monetary incentives to support them further.

In 2022, the MVP Sports Foundation Training Center opened in Intramuros, Manila, providing state-of-the-art training equipment for various gymnastics disciplines. Carlos Yulo was among those who benefited from this facility, utilizing it to enhance his skills and overall performance.

"Dreams are fulfilled in Paris, but they begin here. You’ve made us all proud, Caloy. You’re living proof a Filipino can. We never doubted for a second," Pangilinan tweeted after Yulo's success, showing the gymnastics facility.

Aside from Yulo’s P10-million reward, his coaching team will also receive a collective P5-million, while Petecio and Villegas' team will be awarded P2-million.

"Like always, they can count on our continued support until LA 2028. Mabuhay ang atletang Pinoy!" Pangilinan tweeted.
