Joanie Delgaco flipped the script in her repechage heat, advancing to the quarterfinals of women's single sculls.

Joanie Delgaco seized the day.

Taking full advantage of her second chance, Delgaco finished first in her repechage heat, advancing to the quarterfinals of women’s singles sculls in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on Sunday (PHL time).

Delgaco clocked in at 7:55.00, which is better than her time of 7:56.26 yesterday.

Much like her first heat Saturday, Joanie got off to a strong start. The Filipina rower got a challenge from Vietnam’s Thi Hue Pham at the 1,000-meter mark, separated by only .78 seconds.

However, Joanie started to pull away at the 1,500-meter mark, a complete opposite of her previous race.

Delgaco eventually beat Pham by over five seconds, but the Vietnamese will join her into the quarterfinals after being second in the repechage.
