Sam Catantan bows out of Paris 2024 but not without two inspired performances in her first-ever Olympics.
Sam Catantan’s first Olympic journey featured a dream debut win and a chance to test her mettle against the world’s best.
Following her comeback win over Brazil’s Mariana Pistoia, Catantan challenged world no. 2 Arianna Errigo of Italy in table 32 of the women’s individual foil in Paris 2024 Sunday (PHL time.)
Faced with height and experience disadvantage, Catantan, who is ranked no. 266 in the world, fought valiantly before ultimately losing, 12-15.
