Carlos Yulo takes not just one, but two gold medals in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
After lording over the Olympic Games Paris 2024 men’s floor exercise on Saturday, August 4 (Philippine time), Carlos Yulo could hardly sleep.
Yulo was hyped up after delivering the Philippines' first gold medal in this edition of the quadrennial meet and only the second since the country joined the Games a century ago.

No matter how hard he tried, Yulo just could not doze off.
“Hindi rin po ako makatulog kahapon. Nag-celebrate [ako] pero hindi ganoon kalaking celebration. Pero siyempre po, 'yung energy, sobrang hyped ko po,” said Yulo.
“Pinipilit kong pumikit, hindi pa rin ako makatulog. So kaninang umaga, sobrang inaantok po talaga ako.”

At that point, the 24-year-old needed all the rest he can get before competing in the vault finals less than 24 hours later.
“Nag-na-nap na lang po ako papunta dito. Tapos bago matapos 'yung training, nag-na-nap ako hanggang sa ma-feel kong okay na ako,” he added.

Sleep-deprived and all, the 4-foot-11 dynamo made history anew and claimed another gold medal after topping the vault at the Bercy Arena.
Yulo first asserted himself when he pulled off a near-perfect piked Dragulescu for a superior 15.4333 count he followed up with 14.800 on the strength of a Kasamatsu vault.
No one could top his performance.

Yulo himself could not believe what he just pulled off.
“Hindi ko po ini-expect na ganoon ang kalalabasan ng vault ko. Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala kanina,” said Yulo.

“Relaxed lang ako kanina. Parang, ‘Sige, kahit ano na lang. Wala namang mawawala sa'kin.’ All out na po. Ganoon na [ang] feeling ko. Crazy talaga ng experience na 'to, grabe," he added.
But after this latest Olympic glory that will long endure, Yulo can finally get a well-deserved rest with two gold mints around his neck.
