Hurdler John Cabang Tolentino was able to warmup in the morning before deciding to withdraw from the repechage round of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 men's 110m Hurdles repechage round.
Filipino Hurdler John Cabang Tolentino did not start in Heat 2 of the men's 110-meter Hurdles repechage round due to injury.
According to his physical therapist, Tolentino was already experiencing pain in his left adductor and hip flexor yesterday.
He was able to warmup this morning but eventually told his coach Martin Dela Fuente that he will not be able to compete due to the pain.
Tolentino was able to undergo an MRI, where it was concluded that he was enduring muscle strain.
There is no clear timeline as to when Tolentino can resume his training.
After his Olympic debut, the 23-year-old hurdler will suit up for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games next year.
